My experience at AnimC was a fruitful experience. Prior to attending, I had only been learning one approach to animation. I enjoyed the layered approach Michal Makarewicz taught because it allowed me to have a more connected experience with my animation... It really helped me jump into my shot and put myself into my work. Learning this technique at AnimC really improved my speed and understanding of the curves in the graph editor. More than anything, it showed me another way to animate that made me feel more connected with my work!

The instructors at AnimC really care about each of their students, and they definitely put in the extra effort to show it. With small classes, what you can expect from just one workshop here is astounding. No matter what your skill level, I would highly recommend taking a workshop at AnimC! Along with learning from some of the most talented mentors in the industry, I have been able to make great friends with fellow classmates and instructors alike!

The Animation Collaborative has truly helped jump start my career in animation. The quality of education and level of support I received during my time there is invaluable. Every instructor I've had the privilege of learning from has gone out of their way to provide the best experience imaginable. AnimC's in-house lecture library is an incredible resource that is full of bonus lectures! In-person education with instructors who are actively working in the field is honestly the best way to learn, because you have the opportunity to discuss topics that might not have come up otherwise!

From my mentors to my classmates, the most important connections of my career were made at AnimC! There is nothing like getting face-to-face instruction from some of the best animators in the world. Michal Makarewicz was able to demystify the complexities of animation by not just talking about his workflow and choices, but also by showing students right there in the software. The critique workshops with other instructors really allowed me to hone my acting choices over time by providing honest, unfiltered feedback. The workshops I've taken here at AnimC have been some of the best experiences I've had in my pursuit of an animation career. AnimC was the second pivot point in my artistic growth path. I always preferred in-house education rather than online formats, and I was looking for the best mentors I could find. The guys from AnimC changed my view on approaching animation, both on technical and artistic fronts, which helped me push my demo reel to the industry level. I really miss those days I spent there working hard on my reel!

AnimC was really one of the best things I could have ever done as an animator. Up until that point I had been striving to get my career really going, and I felt like I was starting to lose traction. But when I got to AnimC, the creative environment was so motivating and inspiring, I was totally re-energized! What was so thrilling was that it wasn't just taking part in a workshop, but it was about all of us getting better together! I don't think I've ever come across such an energizing and exciting learning environment as that, and it has propelled me to where I am now. The Animation Collaborative has been, hands down, my favorite animation school experience to date (and I've had several). Not only was my instructor experienced, friendly, and knowledgable; but just having a room full of fellow student animators to share ideas with brought my work to a whole new level. Attending The Animation Collaborative was the catalyst for me making the necessary improvements to get into feature animation. The lectures and critiques I received from my instructor made very significant impacts in improved execution/workflow and, most importantly, coming up with stronger ideas for shots. Week to week I had many "aha!" moments and could see the strides I was making. I don't know where I'd be in my career without my instructor and attending AnimC. I will always be grateful!

After graduating from college in Wisconsin, I knew I had to keep myself surrounded by talented and creative people in order to keep growing. I heard about AnimC on a Cartoon Brew article and right then and there decided that was my next move. I packed my things and headed to the Bay Area where I have lived for the past 5 years. The people I met were also transplants from other locations, so we became close friends and a few of them are still my best friends today! The knowledge gained and the connections made were invaluable to my career an development as an artist.

I had the wonderful opportunity to learn from Michal Makarewicz and Victor Navone, two humble and wonderful animators who really helped me improve my animation skills and motivated me to always keep learning. They are also well priced for the content you get. When I was there, I would arrive early and soak in the awesome lecture library they have available. I owe the staff so much for the priceless knowledge they gave me. Even now, though I'm lucky to be employed. I'm setting aside money to go back and learn as much as I can from them! Thanks, AnimC!

AnimC is by far one of the greatest learning experiences in my life. Every week, the lectures and critique were constantly eye-opening. The philosophy of the school goes beyond the technique and principles of animation. As a professional, my experience from AnimC is essential to the way I make decisions and approach shots. Everything AnimC has taught me leads to creating memorable characters and performances.

AnimC was the gateway to the art education I had always longed for. I was surrounded by fantastic, highly skilled professionals (students and instructors alike!) and it put me within arms' reach of Pixar and the animation industry. Having spent years in self-study, the opportunity to really push my education in the right direction and connect with those experienced in the industry was exactly what I needed, and more than I could have dreamed of. And it was so much FUN!

The skills I learned at AnimC inform my teaching practice every single day. The small class sizes, the incredible classmates, and of course the fantastic and amazingly talented teachers mean the most productive learning environment you can ask for. I learned almost as much at AnimC in a few semesters as I did in four years of college! The time I spent at AnimC absolutely got me to where I am today as an animation artist and teacher.
